About TNWISE

TNWISE is an annual collaborative hackathon that brings together aspiring women innovators, technologists, and student teams from engineering colleges, universities, and science institutions across Tamil Nadu. Building on the remarkable success of previous editions—where over 10,200 women students from 450+ institutions participated and showcased more than 2,600 innovative projects—TNWISE 2026 is poised to be even more expansive and impactful, with a prize pool of ₹19.2 Lakhs. The earlier editions demonstrated strong outcomes, including ₹12 Lakhs in prize money during TNWISE 2024 and ₹19.2 Lakhs during TNWISE 2025, alongside large-scale participation of 6,065 students and over 2,300 project submissions in 2025 alone. Beyond prizes, TNWISE has delivered tangible career and entrepreneurship outcomes, empowering more than 40 women entrepreneurs, supporting over 500 researchers, and facilitating more than 200 internship opportunities, primarily benefiting participants from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, thereby creating meaningful visibility, industry access, and inclusive pathways for women and rural talent that have traditionally remained underrepresented.
